Show Notes

Distractions are everywhere these days.  Every day we have countless things competing for our attention and taking away our valuable mental bandwidth.

But not every distraction needs to be a negative experience….you can turn the tables on these situations and make them into a long term learning opportunity for you and your company.

Our friend Brian Casel wrote about this recently and it got us thinking about how we take the opportunity to turn distractions into opportunities for improvement in our businesses.

Brian lays out 3 things you can do to help keep these seemingly negative experiences into an good thing for your business:

  1. Identify & acknowledge the distraction
  2. Deal with it so you don’t have to deal it with again
  3. Leverage the byproduct(s)

Dave and Craig have both seen this type of framework be successful in our businesses.  Take the chance to recognize an opportunity as a way to look at your business with a critical eye and fix the things that you can so they don’t come back up again.
